Well, it is the time of the year when we have to say farewell to 2009.
Looking back at the events for the year 2009 both at home and abroad. Here are some of the events:
o King of Pop passed away unexpectedly on 25/06/09 just the time when he was supposed to make a comeback;
o the passing of the baton from Abdullah to Najib who took over the premiership;
o tiger woods sex scandal;
o mysterious death of Teoh Beng Hock. The case is pending further investigation;
o Lee Chong Wai did Malaysia proud by capturing Hong Kong Open Title;
o H1N1 flu outbreak.
Today a colleague of mine was asking me this question `What was/were the worst encounters with the customers in year 2009?' To that, I actually have something to add on. The incidence of the bad encounter can be viewed positively if we will to learn from the experience. It will be a mileage moving forward. A case of turning the negative to the positive. Of course, no one like encounters of this nature, however we have to accept it in good faith and learn from it. By doing so, we are one step ahead of the customer(s).
Looking back at the bad experiences, we should also review the good ones as well. Lee Chong Wai did Malaysia proud, well that was the good event for the year. In the same light, we have to look at positive things as well such as having a good customer, good colleagues etc.
Today is the day when the countdown begins. I do not have any plans at the moment. I may be counting down at home, watching the fireworks display from television.
There are a lot of programmes lined up for the revellers to welcome the year 2010. Whatever it is, let hope we will start the new year with a big bang and a better year than 2009.
Happy New Year 2010.
